Talker or Doer, What are You?

  1. Are you a talker or a Doer? You may fake the world into thinking you’re a success or even intelligent, however history will only judge you by what you do.

I have seen so many people in the world that claim to be “Experts or Leading Authority’s” and the in some cases, they are. However in many cases they have people convinced of something that is not factual. There is one word that differentiates people of success and non-success and that is action.

How many times have you had a great idea and never taken action. Then a short time later, you see your idea on T.V. or in the stores.  The difference was the person who took action is a “Doer”, the ones that did not were “Talkers”  At Peak Performance, we teach our students how to be “Doer”. They learn how to set goals, take action and achieve great success. Watch the video of Master Schill sharing his daily tip with you.

Stand for YourSelf

If you are not will to willing stand up for what you believe in, then do not complain about what you settle for.
Everyday I see and hear people that are extremely unhappy with their circumstances and or relationships. If you do set a level of expectation in your life for the type of behavior you expect from friends, peers and your children, then do not complain about the results of these relationships.
If you want your child to succeed greater in school, then raise the bar for them. If you want them to treat you with respect, then expect that from them. If you want your employer to treat you with respect and value, then set an expectation of behavior from the beginning. However, you need to over produce so there is never a question as to your value to the organization.
Business owners, set the expectations for your customers. You want to over deliver your product or service. If you are providing superior service, the old saying “The customer is always right” is wrong. Some customers are not worth having and regardless of how much money they bring in, you are better off without them.
You must respect yourself first before anyone will respect you themselves.
Raise the bar of expectation in your life and start experiencing the success you want!

Character Development

Desire Part 1

Definition – 1. To long or hope for: exhibit or feel desire for <desire success>

Desire is one of those things people just don’t think about until they are in the middle of it.

Thoughts are powerful things when combined with a definite purpose, persistence, and a burning desire

The man who thought his way into a partnership with Thomas Edison

Edwin C. Barnes was a man with a burning desire to work with the great Thomas Edison. He had a very specific or definite desire, to work with Edison, not for Edison. He knew he wanted to work alongside Thomas Edison as an equal, in partnership, not as an employee. This is a crucial difference that set young Mr. Barnes apart from his contemporaries of the time.

Mr. Barnes had two major factors working against his desired goal:

1. He did not know Thomas Edison personally.

2. He was living on the west coast of the United States, while Edison was living on the east coast. Barnes had no money to make the trip to meet Edison.

Many a person would have found the two obstacles daunting and intimidating. Not so for Mr. Barnes. He left all that he knew, packed his meager possessions into a bag and traveled by “blind baggage” across the country. (Blind baggage is to train hop on freight trains)

Upon arrival at Mr. Edison’s laboratory, he announced his intentions to go into business with the great inventor. To look at Mr. Barnes standing in the doorway was to see a dirty, transient drifter. With not a cent to his name, and holding all his worldly possessions on his person. Most people would have slammed the door in his face, but Thomas Edison saw a look in his eye and the demeanor in which he held himself and took note of it. He offers him the job of being a clerk for his business. Not a prestigious job and the least paying of any position within his organization. To Barnes it was the door opening for his partnership with Edison. Never once did he look at the position as working for Edison, but always as working with Edison. This is crucial in understanding the concept of a burning desire. His perception of the situation gave it value where others would have seen none. Eventually, Edwin C. Barnes was given the opportunity he desired, and was able to rise up and work alongside Thomas Edison as a partner by becoming the best seller of Edison’s invention the Ediphone. The slogan became “Made by Edison and installed by Barnes”. This partnership lasted for more than three decades and made Barnes a rich and successful business man.

Key points to think about:

1. Edwin C. Barnes had a burning desire to succeed (partnership with Thomas Edison)

2. He was willing to follow his desire and take the chance of going for it

3. He “burned his ships” and had no way to retreat if things didn’t work out. He staked everything on one spin of the wheel, so to speak.

4. He took the opportunity given to him, and viewed it a positive step toward his goal, and the jumping off point for what he desired most to come to fruition.

5. Barnes thought himself into a partnership with Edison. He thought himself into a fortune. He had absolutely nothing to start with, except the capacity and knowledge to KNOW what he wanted, and the determination to stand by his desire until he reached it.

Google tweaks image search to make porn harder to find

As a parent I was very happy to hear that google is making it harder to find and get to porn images. For that I thank them, however as a parent I feel it is my responsibility to teach my children the values and manners that we were taught as kids.  One of those ways I have found is through martial arts. Peak Performance Training Center has been, and still is a place where I know I can take my children and they will be given the values  and manners that I want my kids to have.  If you are unsure of trying a Martial Arts academy I understand how you feel. I once felt the same way, but this is what i found out. Peak Performance is an academy that helps Parents Be Better Parents. Cause lets face it guys, in today’s world it seems like everyone is out to turn our kids into children with no values or manners.  It is so refreshing to find a home like Peak Performance Training Center who wants to empower parents and their children to be the best they can be in everything that they do in life. So parents if you are looking for that one thing to help your child get a leg up on their peers check out Peak Performance Training Center. They are so much more then just Martial Arts Academy.

Charlie Sheen Gives Parenting Advice

For more than 20 years I have been working with families just like yours and mine. For the past 12 years I have operated Peak Performance Martial Arts in Cedar Park, just north of Austin. www.PeakPerformanceMartialArts.com

It never ceases to amaze me that alchohol, drug induced, morally corrupted stars of television, film and music, have some profound advice about raising children. What is even worse is the amount of television that parents allow their children watch that idolizes these morons.

Yes, I am speaking pretty harsh today, but frankly I am tired of seeing our society, especially our children be bombarded by information that they think is socially acceptable.

Let’s face it, money makes the world go around and as long as we are making these networks and their stars the outrageous amount of money they are, none of this will change.

As parents, we have to take a stand to protect the integrity of our children and our families. The behavior that is socially accepted by general public is not what is best for our kids. It is time to take a stand and relay to powers that be that these stars are not above the law, nor do they fall into a different category of rules.
